What are Values?
-Values are ideals that guide or qualify your personal
conduct and interaction with others.
-They help you to distinguish what is right from what
is wrong and inform you on how you can conduct your life in a meaningful way.
-Values are those things that are really important to
us. The ideas and beliefs we hold as special.
“ Every time a value is born, existence takes on a new
meaning; every time one dies, some part of that meaning passes away.”
Joseph Wood Krutch
“ We want our children to become warm, decent human
beings who reach out generously to those in need. We hope they find values and ideals to give
their lives purpose so they contribute to the world and make it a better place
because they have lived in it.
Intelligence, success, and high achievement are worthy goals, but they
mean nothing if our children are not basically kind and loving people.”
Neil Kurshan
“ If we are to go forward, we must go back and
rediscover those precious values–that all reality hinges on moral foundations
and that all reality has spiritual control.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.
“ Don’t let your special character and values, the
secret that you know and no one else does, the truth–don’t let that get
swallowed up by the great chewing complacency.”
Aesop
Values are like fingerprints. Nobody’s are the same, but you leave ‘em all
over everything you do.
Elvis Presley
“ The life of the individual has meaning only in sofar
as it aids in making the life of every living thing nobler and more beautiful.
Life is sacred, that is to say, it is the supreme value, to which all other
values are subordinate.”
Albert Einstein
“ Values are principles and ideas that bring meaning
to the seemingly mundane experience of life. A meaningful life that ultimately
brings happiness and pride requires you to respond to temptations as well as
challenges with honor, dignity, and courage.”
Laura Schlesinger
“ The longer we live the more we think and the higher
the value we put on friendship and tenderness towards parents and friends.”
Samuel Johnson
